About Me

Mission
My life purpose and mission is to lead through humility and compassion. My professional mission is to lead, encourage, motivate, and inspire others and those I serve in the health care setting.
Looking back
My traits and values have been deeply woven into my existence since early childhood. My parents were funeral directors, operating a funeral home out of a small town in Hampton, New Brunswick, where myself and my two younger sisters observed my parents use kindness and compassion to help people in the community through some of their worst moments.

As a child I always gravitated toward sciences and health studies. Upon graduating from university, my career in Nuclear Medicine involved working in diagnostic imaging with oncology patients at the beginning or end of their treatments. I later gravitated toward a career of Patient Advocacy (eight years). I was privileged to serve in a Clinical Manger role in 2022, working in the Community Health setting. I was the Manager of two Health Clinics in the Greater Fredericton Area (GFA), and am now currently employed as the Director of Ambulatory Care and Oncology in Horizon Health Network (Horizon). In all positions I have lived by the values of my employer and encouraged employees to demonstrate the same, whether it’s using compassion or being empathetic, being accountable, or acting with integrity.

I am currently working toward my Master Degree in Health Studies through Athabasca University. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science in Nuclear Medicine and a Bachelor degree of Science in Biology. I have been working in the health field for a total of 13 years; the last 10 years with Horizon.

The key to balancing my career and personally life is done successfully in building a daily routine. In my free time I teach Yoga and Group Fitness at The Nest Yoga in Fredericton, New Brunswick. I have completed five Marathons (42.2 km) and several triathlons. These were great challenges for me, both mentally and physically and I find it rewarding to accomplish my goals and support others in their goals. I teach my family (husband and two children) the importance of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well being. My family and I perform better at home and school when we have structure in a calm environment, this leads to greater success.
